Overview
The WBQ, Business, Travel and Tourism faculty is determined to support the school in becoming a ‘happy, ambitious and high achieving school where everyone is respected and valued’. The focus of the WBQ and vocational subjects taught within the faculty provide students with the employability skills sought by employers and for further education.

We would argue this is the most relevant subject you will ever experience. Not everyone is going to be an entrepreneur and nor do they need to set up in business. However, wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be surrounded by and/or working for a business.
Business Studies is a dynamic subject and our Business Studies department has experienced practitioners. Our curriculum contextualises learning through the use of real-life situations and problem-solving scenarios. Our students can go out into the world of work with the attributes necessary to be successful.

The central focus of the Welsh Baccalaureate is to provide a vehicle to consolidate and develop essential and employability skills. The Welsh Baccalaureate will help learners to prepare for their future by developing skills, attributes and behaviours valued by post-16 educators and potential employers.
The topics covered encouraged learners to consider different opinions before developing their own. Skills such as problem solving and critical thinking are important, as are creativity and innovation. In KS3, learners will develop their understanding of Personal, Social and Health Education (PSE) topics such as well-being and managing relationships.
