As with many events during the current times, we are having to re-think the way we run our parents’ evening.  We have explored many options and decided that we will conduct the parents’ evening this year through phone calls. For Years 7 and 8, the phone calls will be with the form tutor and all other year groups will be able to book telephone appointments with the teachers.  The phone calls will still follow the protocol of a parents’ evening in that you will be able to book a time-slot in an evening when the teacher will call you.  This will be limited to a 5 or 10 minute slot as per parents’ evening to ensure that as many parents/guardians as possible will be able to be contacted by the teacher.  Please see the table below with the dates of the evenings this year.

In order to facilitate the booking of the phone calls, we have purchased a system that will enable parents/guardians to book appointments online. We will be using Parents Evening Manager on ParentMail, so you can book your parents’ evening appointments from your smartphone, tablet or computer.

You will be alerted once you can book appointments, usually two weeks before the parents’ evening, and will then be able to select the times that are convenient to you. It’s all very straight-forward, but if you need help you can visit the ParentMail help site: www.parentmail.co.uk/help/parenthelp/ and under the Application tile you will find Parents’ Evening Manager, where there are a lot of details and instructions.

Please note, you will need to be registered on ParentMail to be able to book appointments.  If you already receive ParentMail correspondence from the school you are already registered.  If you do not receive correspondence, please email admin@penglais.org.uk.

Once registered, if you have an Android or Apple smartphone, we highly recommend you download the ParentMail App so you can book appointments on your phone as soon as the appointment booking goes live. To do this, simply search for “ParentMail” in your App store.  The app closes to bookings for appointments 48 hours before the evening so please ensure you book your appointments in good time.
